Somerset Books launched the Visible Cities guide book series to Central European cities in 1995, and acquired the Blue Guides – continuously published since 1918 – in 2004.
Currently Somerset publishes the imprints:
- the Blue Guides» informative, even erudite, guidebooks with a focus on history, art, architecture and archaeology, designed, as a former series editor expressed it “for the traveller who desires to understand more fully what he or she sees” and
- Blue Danube» launched 2021, elegant editions of Central European literature, history and travel.
